The big plus to having a list-serve of show-organizing/promoting people is that we can share our ideas and compare our notes to prevent shit from happening like double-booking Davis with two similar shows, or to prevent stuff like a free Mae Shi/Numbers/the Pope show or a Japanther show from lingering as a secret even to people like me and Dawson who like to set their social agendas weeks in advance.
In talking with people like Dawson and Klinger, we got to believe pretty seriously that whatever perceived differences there are between people involved with various house-show spaces, KDVS, DMS, and campus entertainment council, it's probably best that everyone talk and not be strangers.
And that bridge was built the moment Radish offered to help out Dawson. All transgressions of namecalling on the Youseedavishardcore forum over me being "old" because "I was there" for the powerviolence scene was totally forgiven. Those dudes are probably pretty alright!
Ideally, we would get everyone on the Davis Events list to add to the Sacto_Indie list. But that list has always been a secret to non-members, and that probably would put people off if they just found out about...like, by reading this allusion to it. And I don't know if we can trust new people's value as burrito critics, 'cos that's just about all anyone at Sacto_Indie ever wants to talk about online.
