i'm not from sacramento. i don't even live on the same coast, which is why i feel dumb for wasting any more time caring.

and i don't even know what we're discussing anymore, really. but it feels like the same thing as always.

there are super energy awesome people such as yourself, and people who just aren't that into it. nothing wrong with that, and you just can't expect them to be on your level about everything.

so the best idea is to find more high-NRG 100% live music cheerleaders instead of berate everyone else. which leads to the point of my original post:

another email list won't help. it just dilutes all the other info resources. the people who are on top of these things already answer their phone/email/read any of the other half dozen internet info distros. honestly, what confused me the most was why you didn't just tell these people to sign up to sac_indie?

personally, what i think will help would be to make this site in particular more accessible to "the kids" in the burbs, ucdavis freshmen, and weekend warrior type 20-something sacramento independent music whatevers. have shows listed at "lame" venues so that more people visit because they searched for "calvin johnson +foundation" or something and then see the OTHER shows posted and read descriptions and learn more off the board. you can't expect everyone to know who king kong and the BBQ is automatically, and even then was it flyered well? and even if they never venture out of old i, maybe they're up for some shat slinging on the board or i don't know.

i agree that 'no one new's going to come in if we isolate ourselves', so that's why i'm about limiting the amount of off-shoot yahoo groups and posting shows that EVERYONE cares about, even if they're terrible. right now it's prettymuch just a list of shows that you and i personally would go to and would probably know about without this site at all.

in conclusion,
