I think it will be helpful, and already is. It's mainly for the folks who get bands e-mailing them for shows, and there are people on the list who either book venues or have shows in their houses that can accomidate some of these.
What are you, from Sacramento? No one there ever goes to shows! Even in their own town. That King Khan & BBQ show was so good last night, and there was like no one there. There should have been way more people.
Then if you go to the Distillery or Old I when the bill is all local bands, who've played there for like the 50th time, it's a full house. That is so sick.
That's one thing I hate about sacramento, there is no fucking support there for any touring bands, or the "scene" in general. There are like a couple people who actually go to shows there and in Davis, and support the bands! They know who they are. It's a small handful of people, and it's really sad.
I am not hating on Sacramento, I'm speaking the truth. I have lots of good friends from Sacramento, and I like that city a lot. I just wish more people there would branch out and show some support. If this keeps up, the music scene there is totally going to go down the drain.
All the "cool" people are gonna get older and move away, and no one new is going to take over because they were so turned off on how isolationist, and not welcoming everyone was.
