Not far off from the truth here...sadly.

On one hand it's great to hear about someone posting how we should all embrace each other's 'scenes' and shit, crossbook bands, etc. but to actually do it would mean breaking down some pretty strongly held local opinions and taboos about what is or isn't considered cool or punk or indie or fun or lame or whatever around these parts. And this in large part is promoted by local bigtime institutions around here like KDVS, SN&R, A&K etc. types who have formed the core of this music 'scene' for a while. And that's why you pretty much see the same type of shows around here, without any one real 'scene' supporting the larger parts of the whole. Every alt-sub-genre pretty much seems to stick to itself these days, which seems pretty limiting. I've found a great number of people talk a great game about being inclusive but when it really comes down to it it's all talk.

OK, now someone can post a big-ass Rodney King picture.

:: Dear TOTALLY COOL SACTO HIPSTERS,
:Quit commenting on petty shit such as spelling and get off your asses and contribute!!! Is it too hard for you to do?? Easier to fall into the mode of high school clique bullshit!! No wonder the underground music scene here is so fucking apathetic!! Have fun...see ya at the shows....oh wait....probably not.....you'll be here correcting messages....you're probably too cool for our parties anyways!!
