:Believe me, just because SR mentions undietacos in the back of their recent issue doesn't mean there are going to be frat guys bro-ing out in Troy's basement or something. What the mention MIGHT do is get a few more kindred souls out to below the radar shows. Like maybe 5 of them. And don't worry, they'll be cool enough for you, even if they start flirting with someone they may wish to have intercourse with. The comment below is exactly the kind of elitist barf that that the underground gets accused of. I seriously doubt that any of the experimental shows in the area are running the risk of having too many loud-talking, horny Soul Taco fans at them, just because undienachos has been "exposed."

The news and review is a terrible weekly that can be made much better and more useful by more often including information about the underground that exists in sacramento and davis. Living in this town, participating in the music community, making things happen when it might not necessarily be legal or accepted by those who don't understand how important music can be, I wish that the weekly which promotes itself as independant and free-thinking and blah blah blah, I wish that it covered more material than the obvious (esp. in regards to music). The music column is usually terrible, as Jackson Griffith seems unlikely to take initiative in his role, unlikely to see a show of bands that he might not be familiar with, and overall unlikely to step away from the tv/movie screen long enough to develop a true passion for what it is that he's supposed to be writing about. Dear Jackson Griffith, your column is shit, please take a chance every once in a while and let us know how it goes.
