Portland's JonnyX & the Groadies are back in Davis for the first time since they blew up the DAM House back in 2002. Even haters of all forms of metal can like JX:ATG, because the Groadies are all about serious fun!

Musically, JX:ATG are cyber-edged grindmetal with slashing razor-guitars, banshee-wail vokills, and epic synth-led melodies that reveal black-metal roots. This bad-ass drum-machine destroys the Sisters of Mercy's "Doktor Avalanche"...this machine triggers their incredible DIY light-show which makes Pink Floyd's look like a joke. Wash with Selsun Blue beforehand so your friends won't see flakes under the blacklight.

She-Rat is a new San Diego band that features former members of Year Future, Fucking Angels, and maybe some others. It's a dance-accessible female-fronted sorta neo-no-wave booyeah that's rather heavy on the psych guitar...but not some kinda diffused noise that wanders aimlessly while shooting way over your head. You're gonna like this immensely!

Switched-On Vultures are a Sacto/Davis megaband comprised of ex-members of every rad band to break up in the last year, such as Sexy Prison, Oh Dark Thirty, and Corpse Fucks Corpse. John Pritchard sings, but I don't think he will get naked. Sorry if that bums you out, but that is meant to placate some of you. I haven't heard them, but I'm guessing it's near the intersection of a hardcore/thrash band and a harder-rockin' sorta affair, but with the creativity you might expect from a twin guitar attack of Allen Campos and Todd Urick. I predict it might be like Gift of Goats plus Saccharine Trust...we'll hafta see!

K.G.P. is not really the band's name, but rather a sanitized version of the name so we can get it past the censors. It's members of Sores, Corpse Fucks Corpse, Kill-a-Watts, plus local Sacto noise artiste Maniac! This is totally WTFpwning neg-vibe party-stokers.

There will be food to eat and drinks to sip or slam. Come early (on time!) and hungry!

JX:ATG have a new CD which rips, and She-Rat will have something for sale, too. I've got a CDR of them that's pretty sweet.

Next DAM House show won't likely be 'til mid-June, so make this one worth it!!!
