I can sort of see what he's getting at, for the same clique-ish elements of the loft can be found in the current midtown music scene.

I agree kiddo, the fashionista thing can be a drag. That's easy for me to say because I can't fit into that shit anyways.
As in any art form you'll find that some of them are authentic and others not. Within five years 3/4 of them won't even be interested in live music. They'll be busy breeding and raising a family back in the burbs like good, typical 'mericans.

So my advice to you is to just enjoy the music and ignore them and the other petty shit. If it's the music that matters to you, then forget about the rest.
Eventually you'll meet like minded friends, which makes show going even more fun.

And remember, when you throw clods at people, you can always expect them to throw 'em back.

:::I guess I was in my original post I can be seen as negative for mentioning things I wish weren't prevalent than watching a show but I can't delete it, so it's there but it wasn't anything ridiculously bad or declaring war on some people or something. And to everyone saying people just like to hang out, no shit but you wouldn't go to the Independent in SF and $20 plus for a band and just hang out. Granted funcastle is somewhat free even though they take donations. But someone will say they do go to the Independent just to hang out and that's fine that you do I'm saying I'm there for the bands that I support and apparently you people don't like that about me. Isn't that ironic? (I'm being fucking sarcastic).

It's bizarre that so many people (or the same people a few times) keep fighting with and arguing about the whole "scene kid" thing. That was a small part of my post and everyone latched onto that one part. I was positive in the beginning and ending of my post. But no one gives a fuck.
