:
:The Plants
:The Punks
:Art Lessing & the Flower Vato
:
:The Plants are a husband/wife duo from Portland, Oregon, including our excellent friend Josh of Point Line Plane. They play beautiful psych-inflected neofolk as heard on their CD on Audio Dregs. Fans of Death in June, Six Organs...check it out. http://www.myspace.com/plants
:
:The Punks are from Olympia, Washington, and include Slim Moon (ex-Witchy Poo), the president and owner of the Kill Rock Stars and 5RC labels. The Punks are basically Slim plus all of his staff and interns plus guest members from 5RC's roster, which often includes Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu. The band is totally free absurdity, and do expect that you might wind up in the band somehow, if not murdering a guitar, perhaps shaking a baby rattle or something. I want you to freak out for them because they are very reactive, too. I compare their sounds to bands such as The Godz, The Fugs, Smegma, and many LAFMS projects. http://www.5rc.com/
:
:Art Lessing is former KDVS DJ Dan Quillan and Flower Vato is our beloved Larry Rodriguez, and they have a new album just added to "currents" which, as expected, destroys everything and elevates it to a blessed state of absolute bliss. They keep getting better and better even still.

:Thanks,
:Rick
