C'mon Larry, you have to admit that granny gordon looked pretty good with her go-go dance moves.

: yeah, saw them play with Jim O. about four or five years ago during the New York Ghosts tour. Though it was obvious they were reaching for a more pop oriented sound, they still would go "way out" with the noise and psych-scapes, which is what I really love about them. They can take you on a journey beyond and back, all whithin a single song. Unfortunately they lacked the very magic that I paid $25 to experience. Instead I got a radio friendly plastic version of the band. They played well, and the light show was good, but that wasn't the same band I paid to see.

: Imagine going to see James Brown, and he plays northern soul tunes the whole night. Imagine going to see Motorhead and Lemmy decided that the band was going for a more "contemporary" rock sound. Archie Shepp turns to Najee. Flipper sounding like Bad Religion. Yeah, that would fucking suck.

::Wow, I'm glad I didn't go. I saw them two years ago with Jim O'rourke and thought it was pretty good.

:::hahaa, i love it.
::: man, i'll never spend $25 plus security pat down to see Impotent Youth ever again. I dont care what the PopeSmashers say. soft bellied indie-drivel, they sounded like a pavement cover band, and no wonder, they had mark ibold from pvmnt playing with them. I never liked pavement much. they started out like a watered down Fall, then got suckier as the nineties went on. and what was up with that opening band? Thurston Moore actually wrote up praises for them. what the fuck!!! I lost a lot of respect for SY tonight. Kill yer idols indeed. sometimes I truly loath this day and age.
