GIFT OF GOATS (peru)
MIKAELA'S FIEND (seattle)
EXHALE (america)

10oclok...fool's foundation, 19th and k...sacto. $5 or so, just pay what
you canne!

yeah, so supposedly this is the "last gift of goats show for awhile"...now i
do realize that line started to sound like a broken record as far back as
2001 because they have said that like every time they have ever played,
BUT......ummmm...ok, i got nothing. they say that every time, but uh...they
are playing. which means something pretty funny will probably happen sort
of like in the garbage pail kids movie when slime goes everywhere but
everyone learned a lesson in the end. except this time, there probably
won't be a lesson, just slime everywhere. also, i'm pretty sure they will
get in a fight with each other because someone forgot their guitar or
something and they have to go buy a new one right before they're supposed to
play except the guitar store is closed and then they have to drive home 10
hours to get the one they forgot in the first place. that really happened
one time, i was there and it was two summers ago in portland except the
guitar store was open and justin was able to buy a guitar in time for the
show.

more importantly, mikaela's fiend is playing. they are from seattle, and
rank in the top five best high school aged bands i've ever seen. and if you
know me, you know i've sat through plenty of those bands, many of them
highly questionable...but i can honestly say these guys don't have a stink
bone in their body. inevitable (that is to say, lazy) comparisons to
lightning bolt fall short of giving these cats the credit they are due.
sure, they got that thunderous 2-piece instrumental thing that could easily
be on load records thing going on but they do it extremely well and
definately put their own super melody rainbow stamp on something i thought i
was completely tired of without sounding like a bunch of biters. not to
mention: nicest guys ever! scene cheerleader rick ele said they are the
anti-jadedness antidote and having hung out with them, i agree 100% these
guys are gushing positivity without having to drop that word every 5 seconds
like it was "dude" or something to remind themselves with a mantra to be
awesome and their music so completely righteous they are like the
motivational training video i never watched at work. in short, they rip and
are not to be missed.

oh yeah, when was the last time you chequed out exhale? i can't remember either but i just remembered they are still a band and pretty loud and play big guitar rock. they'll be playing too, so get there on time to see what that is all about, ok?

show's going to be in the
smaller room so we can pack all you duders in for the righteous brofrost and
maximum sweat drips. i'll be there in the official capacity i like to call
"hanging out," so be sure to stop by for some hi five slapping and loud
talking. representatives of booker, old crow, or early times be sure to
see me in the parking lot.
