I'll confirm five things --
1) The Maximum Rock n Roll review is real -- last year their record made more end of the year top 10's than pretty much any other recording
2) Smalltown is that good
3) Smalltown are nice folks
4) Smalltown is a band from Sweden playing a diy show in a town they've never been to at a venue not known for doing shows with bands of their ilk and they would appreciate it if some folks would show up.
5) Touring the US is almost a sure money loser for diy euro bands
oh yeah, and 6) I'm not in Smalltown, never been to Sweden. I'm from Sacto and I can not wait to see them!!!!

:it's cute they're faux-posting and repping their own band and all and i understand that, but can anyone confirm or deny this review? just seems a little too weird and it doesn't seem like they're that far removed from forgery.

::I don?t mean to sound like a jaded old twat, but even though there are a bunch of records that are fantastic every month, there are only a few that make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and make you feel like a kid again. This band is the best band of the past decade, no competition. Total hook-laden punk tunes dripping with emotions and energy. Taking the best part of the STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, NEWTOWN NEUROTICS and the CHORDS, and adding their own infectious songwriting into the mix. This band will be up there in years to come as one of the classics of our time? this LP (like all their stuff) is that good. If you only buy one disc this year, get this. If I had the money I?d fly them out to play these songs in my bedroom. I need to go and take a few deep breaths, as I?m speechless
