Damn right! I'm sure on the "Dorks on Laptops" message boards they are talking about ways they can look out for each other and protect their coffee shops from the "Jerk Without a Laptop Staring at Me."
:DORKS ON LAPTOPS
:KEEP YOUR REALITY TO YOURSELF
:WE NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR EACHOTHER MUCH AS WE CAN
:
:looks like you're off to a good start,
:keep lookin out for your selected group of favorite types!
:
:maybe giving people free drinks on their word they'll pay later is why this place needs benefit shows?
:
:on one side here: yes i agree the media is hyping shit to scare-tactics
:on the other side: no i don't think america is depression-proof
:
:we'll see

::Is it really that unbelievable that a few people would try to save a place they like to go? It's not like I think that Javalounge staying in business is somehow "sticking it to the man" or whatever. I just happen to prefer drinking my coffee there than some place piping in Kenny G thats nuts to butts with dorks on laptops. I think in hard times we need to look out for each other us much as we can. One of the first times I went to Javalounge I didn't have any money and they offered to give me a drink on my word that I would come back and pay later. I dunno, I think that's the kind of place we should try to keep around.
::
::Anyways, keep your "REALITY!!!" to yourself and stop trying bum out dudes who are just trying to help each other out.

:::Do you clowns honestly believe Starbucks is the reason this place is closing? Starbucks has been closing stores left and right and is now making instant coffee just to stay afloat. EVERYONE is hurting badly in this economy and lifestyle coffee addictions are a pretty low priority for most people. Let's face it: Your benefit is not going to change those realities. The US is entering a full-on depression, not just a recession. Have you been to the Department of Human Assistance recently? I have. Lines out the door for food stamps and unemployment benefits. Good luck, but your benefit is not going to save a totally non-essential luxury market. Maybe the reason more people in Sacramento aren't going there is that 10% of Sacramento's working population DOESN'T HAVE WORK.
