02.26.2009.THURSDAY NIGHT

GANGLIANS (woodsist/weird forest)
DADFAG (san francisco)
LONG LEGGED WOMAN (san francisco)

9pm-ish///$5 for bands on the road///all ages///at the goobertarium (referred to hereafter as "the hub")///1813 23rd st.///sacto

wasn't kidding when i said you could go to both things i have going on on thursday and that they both rule. sam mcpheeters' spoken word engagement at time tested books should be done by around 8:30-ish giving you ample time to scamper down the street to catch this shebang. not exaggerating when i say this is convening at the best new venue in town for chiller times. here's what you've got:

GANGLIANS will be warming you up for the deluge of releases they have coming down the pipe in the next couple of months. that includes and cd/lp and a new 12" ep. should have copies of their recent split with eat skull at this show if they're feeling extra nice. ask somebody about that, it's a winner by the way. these dudes are one of the best pop bands in town, and that's some real talk. if you need further convincing, please see t3h myspace: http://www.myspace.com/ganglian

DADFAG is a three piece 2lady1dood punk band, reminding me a bit of bigger guitars that made it onto the later 90's k roster (think lync). what is a "dadfag" exactly? not sure either, but here's your chance to help me break the code: http://www.myspace.com/dadfag. oh yeah, they're on tour. this is the first stop, please do the right thing and help them get it off to a good start.

LONG LEGGED WOMAN is a bunch of athens, ga nogoodniks recently transplanted to sf. i think song titles like "drugs don't last forever" say it all: these dudes are trying to keep their heads above the same muck as the rest of 2009's bumout rock alumni, the difference is they're young and haven't given up trying to reach the top of the ultimate party mountain. bring beer, you'll need it: http://www.myspace.com/longleggedwoman
