At the pace of that people cycle in and out of Davis, I won't be surprised to hear a lot new Davis kids saying they've never hold of Sholi... so here's a refresher or introduction: At once scientific and academic, Payam (recent first solo performance at Fort Douglass house), Jon (from Sol + Jon = Yes, Afternoon Brother, and the Sorcerer's Stoned, etc etc), and Eric also elicit that same response you get when you're riding a bike hella aggro, cutting people off like crazy and then leaving space for beautiful lulls to see the sky when no one's looking. What? Anyhow, also know that they are about to open for Iron and Wine on some tour dates so either that means you showing up to the show no matter what or you're totally post-indie and want no part of it.

Indie pop on the reals... with no apologies. Embrace your inner cutesy 1-4-5 things are beautiful tendency. Your choice is to frown off in the corner like a sulky asshole or give into the foot-taps and float downstream. Srlsy though these dudes and dudette have been playing for hella minutes in town and deserve your full attention. Also some of them live in Sactomento now so you might not see them as much. I think they're putting out a new ep or something also right? Anyways mostly just come for my roommate Evan he's good with the ladies and rips on the surf+pedal guitar

Ah Garrett, last time I saw him he was dressed up as a Math professor, lecturing up some of the saddest and mellowest folk music you'll ever hear (except for Matt Bauer of course). This man is very much "Cool as Folk"-endorsed, through and through. Actually the professor thing is a lie I think I saw him play an ultra-beautiful pop set with Jen Grady on cello at the Firehouse a few months ago, right? So not important to the story... anyways give him a shot, check out the Space, etc.

DIRECTIONS
Firehouse is right next to/just east of the Music Building, about three buildings east of Shields Library (Shields has the only address for all of campus: One Shields Avenue Davis, CA 95616), and at the southeast corner of campus.

If you're taking 80, take the Richards exit, go towards In-n-Out and continue towards downtown. Take a left at 1st St. (right after the train tunnel/underpass), then a left at A St., and a right at Hutchison. Firehouse is straight ahead, just after the gate/barrier thing (which you can't pass but can stop at to unload).
