Sholi is a Davis favorite. I'm sure you all know and love what they're all about. If not, tune into the KDVS Recordings split 7" with Dead Science. That song is amazing. Seriously. And our KDVS copy is super-worn and crackly from the many times it's been played on air. Because it's so awesome. And that crackles just add to its character.
Anyhow three of the four of them have now moved down to the Bay Area to make even more cool music together and so we don't get to see them play all that often. Makes it so much more fun.
This is Sholi's Davis 7" release party, so you can get a chance to pick up their new 7", Hejrat.
The Castanets (http://www.myspace.com/castanets) are the obvious star of the show here. Raymond Raposa plays a really intriguing mixture of grungy, folk, experimental psychedelic folk, slowly rolling pop, and just generally avant-gardeness mixed with mellow mellow folk music.
Eternal Tapestry (http://myspace.com/eternaltapestry) (Not Not Fun) from Portland plays some intensely psyschedelic heavy and droney music and soundscapes.
