Chant Oh's is Carson and Zac tearing it up into outer
space. Dig it.
Cexfucx is a 9 person band of freaks culled from some
of Portland's best underground bands... (it features
members of Au, Yellow Swans, Jackie O Motherfucker,
Ghosting, FlyFlyFly, Haiku Ambulance, Life at these
Speeds, and so on)... who together produce a mix of
Free-funk, psychedelic freak-out, and No-wave tinged
skronkjazz. Think late MIles, Prime Time, the
Contortions, Sun Ra, and other funk butchery. Two kit
drummers, a third percussionist, two Saxes, guitar,
keys, bass, and vocals = a lot of sound!

Evolutionary Jass Band is large enseble folk-jazz band
led by Jeffery Leighton Brown (of early Jackie O
Motherfucker fame). Their sound touches on Ethiopian
jazz-funk as well as the ecstatic vibe of 1970s
afrocentric jazz visionaries like
Sunny Murray.They combine these aforementioned
influences with bebop compositional balance,
Jarmuschian cinematic moodiness, torch song, New
Orleans proto-jazz, and American band music. One of
the best live bands in Portland and thus...
