In a few minutes, I'm leaving the office to go pay a visit to a taqueria that has a churro cart that says "Rent us for your party."
I'm gonna do it...seriously!
Saturday night. August 27th
7:00 p.m.
DAM House, 503 E Street in Davis
This thing is gonna be in my patio making you churros.
Chomp on churros so delightfully crunchy on the outside and delectably gooey in the middle and watch Not Not Fun recording artists Silver Daggers from L.A., featuring Jenna from Mika Miko on rad saxophone. You know...the gal in Mika Miko that looks and talks kinda like LaVerne from LaVerne & Shirley?!?! She's the coolest.
Silver Daggers sound like an ecstatic joyful version of The Ex. Or sorta like Dogfaced Hermans.
Business Lady's also playing. One dude in drag, girl bassist with creepy face paint, guy in perverse anteater suit...sounds weird, but the music's seriously not too weird. It's kinda like Thinking Fellers meets "the Smell scene." Everyone between the ages of 15-40 can agree on them.

Beaches are basically the Sores minus Martin. Sounds like their getting ready to relive the golden days of Bulb and Blackjack Records. It might be weird, but only for 15 minutes. I'm ready to be impressed, though.
Dead Moose Head is Brian Weiss' cheerleading-gone-wrong goofiness with Michelle from 213 C's riot-grrrl-screech and ex-DAM-mate Sean's un-self-conscious spaceghost dance. A short goofy set that promises some laughs all around.
Not just churros will be available to eat.
Drinks of several varieties for adults and children.
Come hungry at 7:00 p.m....I'm serious! S-E-V-E-N!!!
Please bring a few bucks to donate to outta-town bands...$3-6 suggested.
Some give six to make up for others who give $1.
No one will be turned away for lack of money.
Nor guilt-tripped too harshly.
