From Puerto Rico, Davila 666 are one of the very most exciting bands on planet earth today. Hooky pop, garagey snarl, and engaging group harmonies with as many as five guys singing together (something that mainland U.S. Americans are not prepared culturally to do, but Latinos are!) are the hallmarks of their sound, and their stage-show is known for being fun-packed, sweat-soaked, and bras and panties hitting the stage (I did see it with my own eyes). This is their first West Coast swing since last year's complete devastation of The Hub. That was The Hub's singlemost successful show. Be prepared to act fast on these advance tickets 'cos now we're doing this show somewhere even smaller (not by choice (I tried larger places!)). Fans of everything from Jesus + Mary Chain, Black Lips, the Mantles, King Tuff, Oh Sees, Paul Collins, and the dark & handsome can ALL agree on this?

You might remember Cheap Time as the headline act of the first ever show at Luigi's Fungarden, or from the time they slayed The Hub. I saw them last year at a house-show in Memphis that didn't start 'til 3am, and they sounded better than ever kicking out their giddy yet glittery garage-pop attack. Fans of Cheap Trick, Jay Reatard, the theme from "That 70s Show", and a dash of Sparks (the band (if not also the beverage in its original formulation)) are sure to love 'em!

Charles Albright:

Sacto's thrillingest riff-master slayed the DAM Haus with Wounded Lion after killing it at the SMMR BMMR festival in Portland.

If you know someone who's a fan and should wanna know about this show, don't keep it a secret from them!
