:'I can give contributions to homophobic bigots, pornography and the Ku Klux Klan but I can't pay for freedom of information via Wikileaks' - Jeff Jarvis, BBC Radio interview.
:Wikileaks is the target of a joint attack by governments and private enterprises like Amazon, Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal.
:Wikileaks is not the real threat. The real threat are those that are orchestrating is whole Wikileaks thing in order to justify further restrictions on your freedoms.
:Nothing damaging has been released from these documents and nothing will be. The nations of the world already knew the things in those documents relevant to them. The information contained in the leaks is only news to the general public. For example, Iran already knows it's neighbors hate it – it didn't need wikileaks to tell them this.
:I don't believe a U.S. army private could access and download these documents over the course of weeks without higher ups knowing about it. I suspect they did know about it and let it continue in order to advance their agenda, that being placing more restrictions on the internet and your freedoms.
:Up to this point, we've been allowed a lot of freedom on the internet. This is because in order to build up the necessary infrastructure, we are needed to pay for it. Now that it is firmly in place, it's time for them to put a lid on our online freedoms and to start using this powerful medium to control us even more efficiently and effectively than ever before. The possibilities on how they can do this better though the internet are virtually endless.
:If we sit idly by today, they will continue to restrict your freedoms at an increasing pace and before you know it, we'll be living in a Orwellian world of forced silence and hypocrisy. We need to fight back. Let them know we will not stand for this.
