Re: putting the scene in scene

I like sacramento because it sucks so good. Malcontent has produced some incredible stuff there. It's actually the one feeling that I really love when I'm there, because it inspires hope for progress by identifying the good and bad in the artistic landscape. But of course it's only really productive when accompanied by an influx of people willing to put forth a great deal of creative effort, thus the importance of kdvs.

Rick, if you book lady gaga at the hub, I would pay $250 and drive 12 hours to see it.

:bravo to everyone who got pissed, this is a good thing right? Is everyone supposed to be happy about everything? Everyday you wake-up and the difficulty that may follow, sometimes you want to judge how miserable the day may seem in the presnt or hindsight. At the end of the day you realize things could be worse... i see a family sleeping behind a building... i guess my day isn't so bad, and things i'm involved with, well, they're not bad either. Is it so dificult to receive criticism? The defensivness that ensues shows, beyond a doubt, that people care about each other, and that, in the end, is a good thing? Does not the idea of a group of people warrant some opposition? one within a group sees something otehrs may not because of their place within a group, well it is just the way things are. Is opposition bad? It's not one scene calling out anoter, but one from within that sees opposition. I am I a Ltuheran,noooooo... I thing DJ Rick is the, "the", most important asset for the community in regards to the development of underground entertainment, it's recreational, we aren't artists, or you since i haven't done anything, compared to Rick who has? He does it all... we love him, obviously, not just for what he does, but for who he is... he is simply amazing, right?
:
:I beleive in him and his attributes as something that everyone involved him should develop within themselves... however, he needs to be reminded that indiffernece remains, and speaking out against the "hum drum" is something that should be embraced.
:
:The fact that epople love rick for who is and what he does is the most important thing, and being defensive shows how strong the bond is fro the collective objective. did it hurt a bit, well sure...
:
:i'm sorry to ignite discourse and unease... i have a ticket to the show... i just wanted to put my own opinion into context, and any fall-out from that attempt is understood... i don't expect people to be my friend or share an acquitance with me. i love sacramento, andw e could do better at creating more bands, venues, and embracing non-pitchfork stuff... i was weened on kdvs and contribute to it's cause every spring...
:
:just realize it is a process that everyoen wants to see succeed
:
:
:criticism the typos, but that does not disocunt someones voice... proliferate with images of pragmatic absurdity, but still listen...
:
:people are real, what tehy say is real, to a point, and use opposition to strengthen your belief...
:
:this is all bull shit, and i'm glad to see different people found a way to express themselves...
:
:see everyone at the show and i'll be the one with fresh fruit and scones...
