If we are such a fucking pariah why I am consistently asked by artists to put on shows at my house. Or do you need to have someone pitchfork or rolling stone has gushed over in order to be interested? It is clear that you have never booked a show because you would realize that it's not a one way street, the band obviously was at least OK if not excited about the idea of having the show at somewhere smaller like this. Would Sol Colective worked out better? Probably, but that didn't work out, as mentioned earlier, and sometimes that happens.

Have you ever tried to get permits set up, get a building up to code? The process is hard enough for people who have a bunch of rich bros as customers nevermind someone trying to get an all ages space going, and it's the same in every city. Even if you are lucky enough to get through the city is still waiting with it's hammer to pound you right the fuck out again ( see http://articles.sfgate.com/2009-04-11/news/17191408_1_great-american-music-hall-clubs-abc).

And do tell, how does one apply to be a gate keeper? Am I one because I hear a band, think they sound good, and ask them to play? Yeah I mean damn thats hard I guess I must be really special, only a select few can do that!

I'm listening, but all I hear is someone who wants his culture delivered on a silver platter, please feel free to tell me what Im missing, maybe even in person because I'm not hiding behind nicknames so I can say something nasty and unconstructive without being held responsible in the slightest. I will be the redhead bearded fellow enjoying the plethora of upcoming shows at the hub and hosting 2 at Villanova in Davis.

:Really?! Selling tickets in advance? Why don't you send the show to a real venue instead of the hub? This area is already a fucking pariah for touring acts and then you derail a show that could've had like 200 bodies... i'm not telling where to hold the show but shows of this nature, usually, folks in the position to do so set it up in a legit spot... why make the hub legit? there is no logical point, it's a piss pour venue that only works in the capacity it is in. Way to go logistical heads of a faulty scene. If there was a real push to legitamize anyhthing then people would do a better job at locating real estate, getting permits, fire code shit, etc... instead a makeshift spot becomes an offical venue and in a matter of time it will be capital garage or luigis, a waste of energy and youth. you folks really let a lot of us down, and it's your job, not anyone elses because you're THE GATEKEEPERS... of all the available acts that could cruise through here, but it's visible peripheral stuff that does get acknowledged and it is so bland and boring... there is no creativity in sacramento and it shows in the lack of bands, venues, and shared collective mentality... before anyone says "stop bitching and do it yourself" and the like comment, just listen instead of being defensive. seriously, you know it, you've succumbed to hum-drum desensitized cultural frivolity.
